Libellenkönigin (born 1983) is a Berlin-based photographer best known for her innovative use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to showcase her artwork. Born in West Berlin in 1983, just a few years before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Libellenkönigin grew up experiencing firsthand the monumental changes taking place in her city. As a teenager in the 1990s, she became fascinated with photography and began documenting the rapidly evolving urban landscape around her. Show more...

After high school, Libellenkönigin attended the Berlin University of the Arts, where she honed her skills in both digital and analog photography. Shortly after graduating in the mid-2000s, she held her first solo exhibition, titled "Metamorphosis," featuring black-and-white architectural photos of Berlin. The exhibition was well-received and marked the beginning of her artistic career.

Over the next decade, Libellenkönigin continued to exhibit her photographs in Berlin's vibrant art scene. Her work evolved to capture more intimate and conceptual subject matter, including a critically praised series on Berlin's parks and green spaces. During this time, she also began experimenting with incorporating digital effects and manipulations in her photos.

In 2021, Libellenkönigin made headlines with her bold move into NFT art, becoming one of the first fine art photographers to embrace the new technology. Her NFT collection "Imaginarium" consisted of deeply layered fantasy images that challenged ideas about reality and illusion. The rare digital art pieces sold quickly and enabled Libellenkönigin to reach a wider international audience of tech-savvy collectors.

Now 40 years old in 2023, Libellenkönigin continues to live and work in Berlin, where she finds constant inspiration in the city's urban fabric. She has established herself as a pioneering artistic voice at the intersection of photography, digital art, and blockchain technology. Fusing her signature aesthetic with imaginative forays into new media, Libellenkönigin's work offers a unique window into the future of creative expression. With her remarkable vision and innovative spirit, she remains a photographer to watch as her career continues unfolding.
